Lalbagh Lake

No need to write much about it as you can find the information in net. Its one of the best maintained lakes in Blore. Many varieties of birds come there and it’s a famous tourist spot. No complaints and a must visit as well.

Yediyur Lake

 This is a well maintained lake and cleaned every year at least for ‘ganapathi’ festival. There is a separate tank created to submerge the idols. There is a small garden adjacent to the lake and people daily go for a walk in the morning and evening – surrounding the lake. Overall can be considered as a ‘city’ lake.

Chunchgatta Lake

This is how in general all Blore lakes are. Of course I am not talking about lalbagh, sanky tank and a few exceptions. Go to that place and see how unclean a lake can be kept by the govt.  The people leaving by the sides of lake are dumping the waste plastic bottles, cloths, tyres there only.  On the other side of the lake the big builders are building the lakeview apartments and earning huge money, but aren’t even bothered to keep the lake clean. May be that side is made clean but not this side. Also its having lot of water and can be turned into one wonderful place.

Doddakalsandra Lake

This was like a total surprise to me. After looking into google maps I went to see this lake. I did not find ny entrance to this lake. The entrance is in between the kumarans school building and the parking lot and will definitely go unnoticed as it looks like to garbage dumping yard. Fortunately as its not accessible easily to the people, when I went inside to my surprise it’s the best lake so far that I have seen and written in my blogs. Absolutely clean water, no plastic and really nice and with some nice birds, ducks – its amazing to see such a place. The only thing is the school should keep the entrance clean and also can keep the footpath surrounding the lake clean. I am confused whether it should be made easily accessible to ‘US’ the destroyers of lakes or its better that the entrance is unclean so that the lake can be clean.

Uttarhalli Lake

This is a newly renovated lake and a big one too. At present there is no water in this lake and is like a nice play ground. But soon this rainy roason it will be back into its original form. One side of the lake is now a Lakeview apartment from Rainbow builders. This is certainly an encroachment and authorities have taken money and approved the construction. Last to last year I had seen the water on other side of lake and actually it was same as this side of lake. I think, someone should take up strict action against these things.

Anyhow, the other side is very well maintained. I think, if it rains heavily the BDA might have a plan to start a boat club there. They have already constructed a room - a ticket collecting room. Whatever it is, this rainy season we will have another place to go for a nice evening walk (along with hundreds of people though ;-)

Subramanyapura Lake

This lake is in subramanyapura (in between vasanthpura and uttarhalli). This lake is totally filled with these green marshes. I never understood whether its a good thing for lakes or a bad thing. May be it protects from sun light so the lakes wont dry up quickly. But the looks of the lake is gone. You cant see any water body in it except at a couple of places. This lake is not well maintained also. There is one temple adjacent to lake, not a big one. So in case the lake is cleaned and maintained, that temple will be a nice sit out place. There is a road that goes from one side of the lake. When I look at the other side of the lake, that also is very low lying area. So mainly I feel the size of the lake is reduced by authorities. Long back it might be say 50 acres and if there is no rain for a year, the governing body might take up 10 acres of that lake into residential area and approve the road in between? Is it not possible. Thats what I feel has happened for this lake and also for Uttarhalli lake.

Bikasipura Lake

This is one of the neatly maintained lakes that I have seen in recent times. This is in ISRO layout, I think actually in Bikasipura where I found this holding. Near this holding there are only bushes and trees. If you want to see the actual lake you have to go to the other side where there is a nice temple in the lake. This is Lord venkateshwara temple and is completely sourrounded by water. So certainly a nice place. The water in this part of the lake is very clean and its a nice view over there. Actually we can walk around the lake as well but the pavement is not maintained. So at present its a bit difficult task. But soon if BBMP decides so pay a bit of attention, it can be really nice walk. I don't know the actual source of water, may be its just a low lying area.
