Begur Lake

I had seen this lake from NICE road (from bannergatta to Electronic city). Looked like a very big lake from that side. Then came back on internal road and finally reached this lake. (According to “Kere karaguava samaya – R. Manjunath, this lake is very old one – has a history of approx. 1300 years – also 334 acres). It is very clean and very large lake. I think it is one of the big lakes I have seen so far. It was like a small picnic place and some families were there enjoying the beauty. I could not see any board near the fence about the size and any other info about this lake.

Meenakshi Lake

We can see this lake only when we travel on NICE road (from bannergatta to Electronic city).  This is a very clean, fenced, small lake and is having some water in it. There were some local people washing cloths there.

Gottigere Lake

This is such a big area at the intersection of NICE road and bannergatta road. There was no water in it in most of the lake, may be in some area ther was small water. So actually looked like a low lying cricket ground to me. There is LDA board but does not have any information about lake (approx. 20 acres as mentioned in “Kere karaguava samaya – R. Manjunath)

Kalena Agrahara Lake

From the main bannergatta road, I could not figure out whether there is a lake inside or not. But then went only 100mt and found this well protected lake having water in it. I think the nearby lakeside apartment might have taken up some responsibility to keep this lake clean. I don’t see any drainage or sewerage entry to this lake but the color of water was a bit green/blue, but no doubt that the lake is clean.

Hulimavu Lake

This one is very clean lake and well protected. It is a visual delight if you are in that mood. On one side there is a mountain (now that is being mined – so we will see the mountain only for next few years) and other three sides are BDA property. So in a way there will be less encroachment in future. There were some fishermen fishing in this lake. It is one of the big lakes in Blore . (approx. 112 acres as mentioned in “Kere karaguava samaya – R. Manjunath).

Subbarayara Kere

From the google map when I searched this is named as RBI layout lake. The actual name of this lake is Subbarayara kere.
I wanted to go to Arekere from ISRO layout and on the way I found this lake. There is green water in this lake in some area and might be upto four feet deep. Actually a man was walking inside this water and was waist deep. Seriously I could not figure out what exactly he was doing as the water wasn’t clean at all. But this lake is fenced and is a protected property now.
